Manager of the Month - October 2021
Congratulations to Anton Atanasov for winning Manager of the Month for October! Anton is the Head Gardener at Trent Park and has been recently praised by our client, Berkeley Homes, who are extremely impressed with his maintenance work across the estate. Trent Park is a large site consisting of different areas such as the Long Garden, Lily Ponds, Wisteria Walk and the Daffodil Lawn of which need to be managed throughout the year.
We had a chance to catch up with Anton regarding his work at Trent Park…
Please tell us about your role as Head Gardener at Trent Park…
I am responsible for the maintenance and vision of Trent Park. Some of the activities as part of my role as supervisor include drawing up a work plan daily and seasonally.
What is your favourite aspect of maintaining Trent Park?
I’m in love with my work, I can’t separate the processes as I enjoy every aspect of my job. For example, there are many flowering beds in the park, with a wide range of flowers and plants which I take great care of.
What do you find most challenging and how do you combat any problems?
The challenges are usually in the spring and summer months, when the work is very intense and all parts of the gardening must be monitored daily and weekly. It is a challenge to impose my own feelings and experience of what the park
What area of Trent Park is your favourite?
The Wisteria Walk and Long Walk. There is lots of history in one place, lots of colour and a sense of grandeur from the Wisteria plant.
