Manager of the Month - August 2021

Congratulations to George Georgescu who has won Manager of the Month for August! George was applauded this month for his work at White City Phase One which has recently won a BALI award. This will be George’s second BALI win for a site of which he has been Project Manager on - the first being One Blackfriars which won a BALI in 2019. This highlights George’s amazing attention to detail and ability to uphold the highest standards of quality throughout the sites he manages.

This is what George had to say about his recent work….

What is your role?

During my career with Elite I have been very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to undertake the role of Project Manager at White City Living. This was my second project in the role, previously completing One Blackfriars. I consider myself a lucky person to be working with the same team for the last few years, delivering high quality projects.

Did you encounter any problems within the project and how did you combat them?

Right at the beginning of the pandemic we had lots of delays due to lockdown, which affected every day site materials and overseas materials. Being a long term project, we managed to avoid any delays and achieved our final completion date.

What have you achieved so far?

The most ambitious problem was to handover Exhibition Park in a short period of time. This was fulfilled and then we carried on working through various sections of Phase One. I built a great team around me and we delivered the project on time and to a high standard. One of my main roles is to keep our client happy and I feel I did that, winning 2 months in a row St James’s Monthly Trade Contractor award.

How is the project at Battersea Power Station coming along?

I am now overseeing the construction of another important project, Battersea Power Station. We recently completed the soft landscaping to the new tube entrance and we are now working away inside the site on the roof and ground floor furniture and soft landscaping. We are hoping to have this completed by Christmas this year.
